Bio[]

"It was a long, long time ago, but the name "Kurihara" used to strike fear into the hearts of racers in Haruna. Then a new champion suddenly appeared, and Kurihara moved here to Akagi. Since then, countless races have made him virtually unbeatable in Akagi. His car's starting to show it's age."

Trivia[]

Eiji Kurihara was once the Haruna uphill' Slasher until Kokami defeated him (Kaido Battle) and was already Akagi' Slasher (Kaido Battle 2) as Zoshigaya defeated him too.

Being Akagi' Slasher, his intro cutscene features many Initial D's references, such as :

  • the GS gas station, where Itsuki Takeuchi's Toyota SR Levin AE85 is parked in;
  • the Fujiwara Tofu Shop, where Takumi Fujiwara's Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86 is parked;
  • the Seibu Chichibu Station, where Takumi Fujiwara and Wataru Akiyama prepared for their race and where Itsuki Takeuchi and Kazumi Akiyama parts away.
  • the restaurant Sky Ark, where Ryosuke Takahashi's Mazda Savanna Inifni RX-7 FC3S, Keisuke Takahashi's Mazda Enfni RX-7 FD3S and Iketani Koichiro's Nissan Silvia S13 are parked.

While his vinyl on the hood isn't shown in-game, it is clearly visible in Wanderer's intro cutscene.
